Black Women in Finance (BWIF) is a community of black females working in the financial industry. Whether you're just starting out your career or have been in the game for a few years, we are dedicated to not only connecting talented women, but supporting them personally and professionally as well.
Beyond this, we also serve as a platform for black women aspiring to do what we do. We want to provide the inspiration, encouragement and motivation needed to enter this challenging, though ultimately rewarding, industry. Those of us who have made it thus far might remember how difficult it was starting out. Now that we are here, we want to extend a helping hand to those coming behind us.
In summary, our goals are as follows:
• We want to see more black women secure full-time positions in Finance, following internships and/or work experience programs. The conversion rate is far too low – we want to do something about it.
• Furthermore, we want to ensure that this talent is retained once they enter the industry. Getting the job is only the first step.
• Beyond that, we want to build a strong community that connects successful black females in the industry by inspiring, encouraging and motivating each other.
